With the Sonoran Desert and mountain views as its backdrop, this area continues to be a popular place to live in the North Arcadia area. It is made up of several different neighborhoods with average home prices north of $700,000. It is considered a very safe area to live in with 60% less crime than the national average. Some of the more well-known neighborhoods include Rancho Manana, Hidden Valley, Willow Springs Estates, and Mesquite Ranch.

Dining and Shopping

Besides the downtown main street, there are plenty of other shopping areas in the area like Carefree Marketplace, Stagecoach Village, and The Shops At Dove Valley. The incorporated town of more than 5,000 residents is more than 28 square miles with a location close to Phoenix, Arcadia, and Carefree. Its Western-themed commercial corridor is small but unique, with arts and craft offerings plus several eateries and watering holes – including two bars famous for hosting Green Bay Packer and Pittsburgh Steeler fans. Throughout the downtown area, you are likely to find art galleries next to bull riding arenas and live music featured at the various restaurants and bars.

Outdoor Recreation

The area is home to a regional park, with nearly 3,000 acres of hiking trails, panoramic city and desert views, and natural plants and wildlife. It’s where gold diggers picked at the earth as early as the 1870s and where outdoor lovers enjoy the beautiful Arizona weather today. With more than 2,000 acres of rugged upland, floral communities, and archaeology sites, Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, remains a favorite spot to explore and enjoy the outdoor adventures that the foothills have to offer. Besides hiking, there are opportunities for mountain biking, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, Jeep tours, and more.

Unique Experiences

Something out of the ordinary is easy to find in this charming suburb. Frontier Town is a special place that makes it feel like you have been transported to the Wild West, complete with re-enactments, concerts, boutique shops, and even a little white chapel available for theme weddings and events. Another out-of-the-ordinary option is available at the Grace Museum of America. The museum features historic artifacts from important moments in US history, complete with original antiques and mannequins from the 19th and 20th centuries. There are plenty of new experiences to discover both indoors and out in this interesting and quirky little town.

Since it is just a short drive to major metropolitan areas, this quiet suburban town enjoys the best of both worlds. The easily accessible freeway makes a trip to the airport or downtown Phoenix or Arcadia very reasonable. Unique shopping and dining are available throughout the town with even more options available just a short drive away. Most of the school-age children in the area attend Cave Creek Unified School District, which is considered to be an excellent district.
